Another Rainy Day
So I mentioned in my life update post about the business that Sarah and I had started! It's called Sarik Enterprise! We primarily focus on snow right now and will expand in a couple weeks to lawncare. We are very excited for the possibilities here as hopefully I'll be able to have more time for ministry and be able to be home most nights!
So my title for today is Rainy Day!
It's been a fantastic winter to start snow removal! December was the snowiest December on Record it the state of Kansas and with the few but GREAT accounts we have, we have made out like bandits! :)(well except that we haven't been paid by our big accounts yet! Still waiting)
But the month of Feb. was supposed to be a big month too! BUT it seems that every time it's supposed to snow, it gets to 33 degrees and rains...so all this extra money we were going to make we would have if it we lived about 50 miles north of here! crazy! We are so very thankful for what God has given us and thankful for what is to come! but if you could pray a thing or two, it'd be that the temperature would drop and that we'd get another 2-3 chances to plow! That's all for today! :) Thanks for praying!

All things New!!
Revelation 21
The New Jerusalem
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."5He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
6He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.Wednesday, February 10, 2010
I'm Back
Hello all,
So, it's be a VERY long time since this site was ever TOUCHED! I'm sorry.
I realized recently, though some of you have known forever, that I'm a HORRIBLE communicator. I don't call, txting is mostly irrelevant and my emails are non-existent. So here I am, trying to simplify and yet, share with you a little of what is going on in my life, our life really!
So here's a quick snapshot:
1. I have been married to the most wonderful girl in the world for 256 days. Sarah is such an encouragement to me and her love for life and for Jesus is contagious. We have no children though we were given a plant recently that has become like our child...demanding light, water and growing faster than we can buy it clothes (pots).
2. We live in an appartment in a rough part of town and enjoy watching our neighbors deal drugs, park their cars backwards (so they can escape quickly) and occasionally hear gunshots. Very exciting! We have connected well with the two families living in our four-plex handing out cookies, and constantly in conversation, though I'll confess my wife is the instigator more than me.
3. Sarah works for a coffee roaster and delivers coffee and coffee memorabilia to gas stations, coffee shops, offices, schools and anybody that will pay for non-Folgers coffee. She does wonderfully at this as her ability to connect with people is uncanny. Truly a gift!
4. I work for Target in a distribution center and work weekend nights. Although this is not my passion, it helps pay the bills and gives me time during the week to do things I love. I am currently the youth worship director and lead two teams for worship and arts on wednesday nights. Sarah and I also lead worship for "Overflow"- a monthly extended worship time, focusing on prayer, musical worship, and learning what it looks like to worship with ALL we ARE NOT All we HAVE!
5. This winter we have started a business. It started with snow removal, but will swing into lawn care as things start to warm up. We are excited to see what God will do with this business as we give it to him.
OK. That's my nutshell, catching you up on life. I'll try my best to keep this updated so you can see what's happening. Hopefully I'll figure out how to put pictures up and everything too. :) Thanks for reading. Have a great day!

Theft...a thing of...beauty?
So I got robbed...again. This is the second time in the past month and kinda heartbreaking. There are a few things I'm learning though about God in all of this. First of all, he's way bigger than I'll ever be. It seems that whenever I have things under control, he finds/makes a way to show me that I am nothing and that I DO indeed need him. Another important lesson is that my stuff is just that. Stuff. How can I ever say that God has all my being and all my heart, when I have so much knitted into the personal things and material posesions that I get so bent out of shape when all of a sudden half my DVD's are gone, or my projector is gone. Why is it that I "love" these things so much that I have to loose them to realize that I "love" them? Who knows...and I believe that is the beauty of theft.

Savior King
I'm sitting here in my "cloffice" (closet/office) at church listening to the song "Savior King" off the same titled Hillsong album. It amazes me the passion they have for not only their music but for just worshiping God with full hearts of praise. To sing a simple chorus that says
This is the cry that I want my heart to have. To care about nothing else, or nobody else but to be able to wholly worship my Savior King no matter what is going on around me. I struggle with this, but I believe that God is growing me into a young man that is passionate about life. My deepest desire is to be able to be fully and completely passionate about God alone, and I do believe Life will follow...
We love you Lord,
We worship you,
You are our God,
You alone are good...
We worship you,
You are our God,
You alone are good...
This is the cry that I want my heart to have. To care about nothing else, or nobody else but to be able to wholly worship my Savior King no matter what is going on around me. My deepest desire is to be able to be fully and completely passionate about God alone, and I do believe Life will follow...
And now the weak say I have strength
By the spirit of power that raised Christ from the dead
And now the poor stand and confess
That my portion is ? and I'm more blessed
Let now our hearts burn with a flame
A fire consuming all for your Son's holy name
And with the heavens we declare
You are our king
We love you Lord, we worship you
You are our God, you alone are good
You asked your Son to carry this
The heavy cross our weight of sin
I love you Lord, I worship you
Hope which was lost, now stands renewed
I give my life to honor this
The love of Christ, the savior king
Let now your church shine as the bride
That you soar in your heart as you offered up your life
Let now the lost be welcomed home
By the saved and redeemed those adopted as your own
I give my life to honor this
The love of Christ, the savior king
By the spirit of power that raised Christ from the dead
And now the poor stand and confess
That my portion is ? and I'm more blessed
Let now our hearts burn with a flame
A fire consuming all for your Son's holy name
